
MICHELANGELO RODRIGUEZ BIO
Originally from Austin, Texas, Michelangelo Rodriguez is a Los Angeles based composer and multi-instrumentalist who blends his conservatory trained background with stylized folk, jazz, and electronic elements. Michelangelo’s experience in film scoring spans from horror to drama to comedy, which has demanded his blend of an electronic and acoustic musical palette. It is his unique hybrid compositional voice that has proven to be a valuable asset across a wide range of visual media.
He has worked on projects including The Codebreaker (PBS), Popeye’s 2024 Super Bowl ad, The Wait Is Over, starring Ken Jeong, BMW’s 2022 Super Bowl ad, Zeus & Hera, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek, and the Spotify Studios podcast FOGO: Fear of Going Outside.
Michelangelo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Master’s in Screen Scoring from New York University. He was awarded the Vic Mizzy ASCAP Scholarship, which honors the veteran film & TV composer-lyricist who created the beloved TV theme songs for The Addams Family and Green Acres. Michelangelo is an in-house Composer/Associate Producer with Squeak E. Clean Studios. When he’s not writing music, Michelangelo enjoys basketball, cooking, and cats.
